Description	:	Helga Peterson, 96, of St. Edward, died Thursday, September 8, 2005, at the Cloverlodge Care Center in St. Edward. Funeral services were held Tuesday, September 13,2005, at the St Ansgar Lutheran Church in rural St. Edward. Rev. Funeral services were held Tuesday, September 13,2005, at the St Ansgar Lutheran Church in rural St. Edward. Rev. Kelly Petersen officiated with interment in the Rosenborg Cemetery in rural St. Edward. Casket bearers were Allen and Larry Peterson, Kenny Jenkins, Max Nordeen, Jerry Evans and Doug Roemmich. Frances Matzen was organist and Jan Cruise was soloist. Helga Peterson, the daughter of Anton and Jorgina (Jacobsen) Christensen, was born March 15, 1909, in Platte County. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Ansgar Lutheran Church at Rosenborg and received her education at Looking Glass School District #40. On September 2,1930, Helga was united in marriage to Albert Peterson and to this union, two children were born. They spent most of their married life farming in the St. Edward area until 1966, when they moved into town. They both worked at the IGA Store. Albert died in 1968, but Helga continued to work there until the store closed in the 1970s.In May of 2004, Helga entered the Cloverlodge Care Center in St Edward. She was a life long member of the Rosenborg Church and the ELCW. She was also a member of the Sew and Chat Club for 50 years. Survivors include two children, Berdell of Genoa and Linda Roemmich of Lincoln; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; three step-great-greatgrandchildren; one brother, Roy Christensen of Filer, ID; along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three brothers, Rudolph, Erling and Victor; and three sisters, Edna Krogh, Helena Peterson and Dora Thompson.
