Description	:	The funeral service for Helga Irene Josephsen, 66, of Adair, was held Friday, February 24, 1995, at 10:00 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Adair. Mrs. Josephsen passed away Tuesday evening, Feb. 21, at Jennie Edmundson Hospital in Council Bluffs. Officiating at the service was Rev. Russ Senstad. Music was provided by Brenda Wedemeyer, organist, and Rev. Don Pritchard, soloist. Pallbearers were her nephews: Dean Foresman, Danny Josephsen, Jon Pedersen, Dennis Foresman, Mark Jorgensen, Paul Christensen, John Martin, Jim Pedersen and Jerry Karns. Helga Irene Petersen was born in Audubon County, Iowa on Sept. 25, 1928, the daughter of John and Nora Olsen Petersen. She was baptized at St. John's Lutheran Church west of Exira and confirmed at Exira Lutheran Church. She grew up and attended rural Audubon County schools and graduated from Exira High School in 1946. On October 1, 1946, she was married to Richard E. Josephsen in Atlantic. They farmed east of Exira until moving to the Clarence Petri farm north of Adair. They moved to Adair in 1980 after retiring from farming. Richard preceded her in death on May 13, 1981. Helga cooked at the Adair Senior Center from July of 1983 until May of 1994. She had been a lifetime member of the Lutheran Church. Surviving are one son, Allen Josephsen and wife LeAnn of Anita; two daughters, Sandra Wilke and husband Jerry of Blair, NE, and Barbara Josephsen of West Des Moines; four grandchildren, Benjamin and Melissa Wilke, and Lisa and Amy Josephsen; one sister, Esther Foresman and husband Audrin of Exira, sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Petersen of Exira and Letha Mae Josephsen of Exira, brother-in-law, Jim Jorgensen and wife Irene of Audubon; nieces and nephews, and many loving friends. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband; an infant daughter, Carolyn Sue; twin grandsons, Chad and Jacob Josephsen; brother William Pedersen and wife Maxine, brother Leroy Petersen, sister Kathryn Martin and husband Basil, and sister Gladys Jorgensen. -Anita Tribune, March 2, 1995
