On the 15th of December 1899, he was married to Hilke Kruger and they were blessed with 2 children. He was a faithful and caring father to his family. We thank the Lord that on his sick bed he prayed much for forgiveness of his sins and how the feeling that Jesus left with him became his confidence which he said himself. Paster E. Frerks and the undersigned spoke at the home and at the church before a large gathering of mourners that expressed their heartfeld loss for the wife and the numerous relative. The Ruler of all things desires her to look upward! In the name of the family, H. He married Hilka "Helen" Kruger, the daughter of John Kruger andGeske (Boomgaarden) Kruger. After the death of Helmar, Helen married Harry DeBoer on February 24, 1904, another son of Jan Folkerts DeBoer and Janna (DeVries) DeBoer.
