Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Vernon Arwood, Huron; three grandchildren; six brothers; George, Huron; John, Walter, and Elzo, DeSmet; Warren, Bryant: and Claus, Raddison Wis. ; three sisters: Mrs. James Clancy, Jamestown, N.D.; Mrs. George Hale, Waseca, Minn.; and Mrs. Freeling Wessels, Santa Ana, Calif....Born Jan. 2, 1896 at Forreston, Ill., he came to South Dakota... Mr. Sprang was married to Hilda Harty Dec. 5, 1917.....The couple lived at Willow Lake 21 years, he was working as a mechanic, then moved to Bancroft and resided there a year and a half. In 1941 they moved to Huron and in 1951 to Michell. They operated a grocery store there until 1954 when they moved back to Huron.... He was a member of the Huron Bible Baptist Church. ... Mr. Sprang was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and ond sister....Funeral services were held Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at Aaseth Funeral Chapel in Huron and at 3 p.m. at Spirit Lake Presbyterian Church north of DeSmet. Burial was in the church cemetery. The Rev. Richard Oller, paster of the Huron Bible Baptist Church, officiated. ..Pallbearers were Herman Voigt, Alfred Martin, Forrest Paulson and Lee Bates of Huron; Ben Kurtenback and Melvin Anderson of Mitchell.....Honorary pallbearers were W.G. Douglas, Clark; Dan Kennel and Art Larson, Huron; Vernon Arwood sr., Steve Balough and Ray Mudgett, Willow Lake.....Attending the services from a distance were Mr. and Mrs. George Hale, Waseca, Minn.; Mrs. Elsie Clancy, Jamestown, N.D.; John Clancy, Montpelier, N.D.,; Mrs. Herman Wegenke, Eldridge, N.D.; Mr. and Mrs. Harold Stemple of Marietta, Minn.
