G. Heusinkveld, nee Hendrieka wolsink, was horn in Holland, at Varsevelt in the Province of Gelderland, on February 12, 1856. She was the second eldest of a family of three girls. At the age of seven years her mother died and she and her younger sister were reared in the homes of relatives. At the age of 18 years she made confession of faith and was received in the church, at which time she was presented with a psalm book, which she prized very highly and which she had in her possession until the day of her death. At twenty-six years of age she was united in marriage to Hendriekus G. Heusinkveld to which union seven children wore born, two of whom died In infancy. Immediately after their marriage they left Holland and embarked for the United States and after a long and stormy voyage of 17 days duration landed at New York. They journeyed on to Greenlealeften, Minnesota, where lived their Uncle and family, Everet Heusinkveld. Here they resided for one year after which, In 1882, they moved to Alton, Iowa, where they lived one year. They then moved to Douglas County, South Dakota, where they lived on a homestead and where except for some brief absences, they lived until the death of their respective deaths. Her husband preceded her in death on January 17, 1921. On the eleventh day of August, 1926, after having reached the age of 70 years, 5 months and 29 days she departed this life very suddenly and unexpectedly. She is survived by five children, namely: Mary W. (Mrs. John Mulder), of Corsica, South Dakota; Dick Heusinkveld and John Heusinkveld, of Hull, Iowa; Henry J. Heuslnkveld, of Timber Lake, South Dakota; and : William M. Heusinkveld, of Corsica, South Dakota. Sioux County Index 1926-08-20.
