(Dion) Paradis to whom he was married on November 3, 1951. Born in Attleboro, MA, on May 29, 1927, he was a son of the late Delphis J. B. and Aurore A. (Rene) Paradis. He was the husband of Pauline E. (Dion) Paradis to whom he was married on November 3, 1951. Born in Attleboro, MA, on May 29, 1927, he was a son of the late Delphis J. B. and Aurore A. (Rene) Paradis. He was a lifelong resident of the city of Attleboro. Mr. Paradis was a veteran of the United States Army having served from 1952 1954 during the Korean War era. He studied at LaSalette Seminary in Enfield, NH and received an associates degree from Bristol Community College and his Bachelor of Arts degree in elementary and secondary education from Bridgewater State College. He worked for the United States Postal Service for 30 years having started as a letter carrier and retiring in 1987 as the Postmaster of Manville, Rhode Island. He served as the president of the Letter Carriers Union and had served as the president of the Southeastern Massachusetts Letter Carriers Union. Mr. Paradis was a longtime communicant of St. Joseph Church, Attleboro where he served as a Boy Scout Leader for Troop 37, was a member of the church choir and the Holy Name Society, served as the first president of the Parish Council, was a CCD coordinator, served as a Eucharistic minister and lector and was a volunteer at the church food pantry, involved in the churchs annual Catholic Charity Appeal, served as chairman of the bingo program and in 1974 was the recipient of the Marian Medal. In the 1960s he served as a member of the Fall River Diocesan School Board and served as a representative for the Christian Family Movement to the Fall River Diocese. He was also an active volunteer at LaSalette Shrine, Attleboro, for many years where he was the leader of the 30-week club and Family Retreats. Mr. Paradis had served as the treasurer of the LaSalette Retreat House Center for 10 years following his retirement from the postal service. Mr. Paradis was a member and had served as treasurer of the American French Genealogy Society in Woonsocket, Rhode Island. For 10 years he was a volunteer Eucharistic Minister at the Life Care Center of Attleboro during which time he established a resident reading library. In addition to his wife of 52 years, he leaves five children, Melanie Paradis, O.S.F. of Brookfield, Wisconsin; Claire M. Pepin of Pawtucket; Adele P. Mahoney of North Smithfield, Rhode Island; Mark H. Paradis of Pembroke, New Hampshire and Christine A. Paradis Stelzer of Groton. Also survived by four sisters, Doris Johnson of Attleboro, Yvonne Naylor of Arlington, Virginia; Rita Laferriere of Newton and Anna St. Pierre of Central Falls, Rhode Island; two brothers: Joseph Paradis and Ernest Paradis both of Attleboro; 6 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Brother of the late Irene Fontaine, Lucie Cloutier, Lorraine Dorothy, Delphis Paradis, Arthur Paradis, Lionel Paradis and Olivier Paradis. Burial in St. Stephens Cemetery, Attleboro.
