Description	:	Henrietta A. (Strand) Fossum was born February 26, 1923 on a farm near Canton, SD, the daughter of Henry N. and Alma A. (Ekle) Strand. She attended country school and Canton High School. She worked in Washington, D.C. and the Sioux Falls Airbase during World War II. Henrietta was united in marriage to Eldon O. Fossum on March 12, 1950 at the Canton Lutheran Church, Canton, SD. Following their marriage, they lived and farmed on a farm south of Canton. (Strand) Fossum was born February 26, 1923 on a farm near Canton, SD, the daughter of Henry N. and Alma A. (Ekle) Strand. She attended country school and Canton High School. She worked in Washington, D.C. and the Sioux Falls Airbase during World War II. Henrietta was united in marriage to Eldon O. Fossum on March 12, 1950 at the Canton Lutheran Church, Canton, SD. Following their marriage, they lived and farmed on a farm south of Canton. Henrietta worked as a bookkeeper and on the sales block at Canton Livestock for many years. She also was an original member of the Lands Handbell choir. Grateful for having shared her life are her husband, Eldon; one daughter, Dr. Faye L. Fossum, of Canton; one sister, Betty (Art) Larson, of Fairview, SD; one sister-in-law, Alice Hanson Strand, of Rapid City, SD; brother and sister-in-laws, Orvin and Evelyn Fossum and Dick and Arlene Fossum, all of Canton, SD; two nephews and six nieces. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 2, 2007 at Lands Lutheran Church, Hudson, SD with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Anderson Funeral Home in Canton, with family present from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
