Bohlken died, at the family home in Wayne Township, last Monday morning, of internal cancer. She had been afflicted with this serious malady for a number of years and during the last days of her life was a great sufferer. Everything that could be done was done for her, and she submitted to several surgical operations but without securing permanent relief. Henrietta Eggers was born in Sillenstede, Yeverland, Germany, April 23, 1854. She was married at Reepesholt, Germany, to Henry B. Bohlken May 10, 1874. They lived in Germany nine years after their marriage and then removed to the United States locating on a small farm in Wayne Township. A few years later the larger farm which has been the Bohlken home many years was purchased. A daughter and a son died previous to their mother's demise. The former a little girl three and a half years old, died three day after the family landed in the United States. A son died in 1804 at the age of 20. One son, Edward Bohlken, and the husband survive Mrs. Bohlken. Three brothers and a sister also survive, all of whom except one brother, John B Eggers, of Center Junction, live in Germany. Funeral services were conducted this afternoon at the family home in Wayne Township by Rev. W. H. Hehuetz, the pastor of St. John Lutheran church, at one o'clock, and at two o'clock at the church. Interment was had in the cemetery adjoining the church.
