Read More	Holyoke Enterprise, Holyoke, CO, 8 Jul 1993 Henrietta Schmidt of Holyoke was born at Herndon, Kansas, May 4, 1896 to Tobias and Lesetta Dickie Kindschi. She passed away on Sunday, July 4, 1993 at Prairie Vista Care Center in Holyoke at the age of 97. When she was a small child, Henrietta, her parents and family moved to Orlando, Oklahoma. She attended school there and the family farmed in that area. In 1917, her parents and part of the family moved to Clatonia, Nebraska. Henrietta taught in the country schools there for several years. On June 1, 1921 she was united in marriage to Henry F. Schmidt at Clatonia and they moved by immigrant train to Holyoke. They farmed southwest of Holyoke for 36 years until Henry died in 1957.* During that time, they were members of the Wages Methodist Church. After the death of her husband, Henrietta moved to Holyoke. She was an active member of the Holyoke United Methodist Church and a volunteer at Prairie Vista Care Center before entering as a resident there. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, six sisters, one grandson and one great grandson. Survivors include son Kenneth Schmidt and wife Phyllis of Grand Island, Nebraska; three granddaughters; seven great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and other relatives. Services were scheduled for Wednesday, July 7, 1993 at 2:30 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Holyoke with Rev. Jack Pedotto officiating. Burial was to follow at Holyoke Memorial Park. *NOTE: Headstone says died 1958 and Holyoke Cemetery records say buried 10 Dec 1958.
