Mrs. Carr's death took place Thursday last, after an illness of about 10 days of pneumonia. Mrs. Carr was the daughter of the late Joseph Moore of Chequest township. All will learn with regret of the death of Mrs. Henrietta Moore Carr of Milton, widow of John W. Carr. Mrs. Carr's death took place Thursday last, after an illness of about 10 days of pneumonia. Mrs. Carr was the daughter of the late Joseph Moore of Chequest township. She was born in Franklin county, Ohio, July 21, 1840. She came with her parents to Van Buren county in 1842. December 27, 1860, she was united in marriage to John W. Carr. Their married life was happy and prosperous. Mr. Carr became a merchant at Milton, and afterwards with others established Citizens bank, and also became the owner of farm lands to the amount of 1200 to 1500 acres. He was elected in 1883 to the state senate. At the time of his death he was worth $60,000 to $70,000. To such a husband Mrs. Carr was a worthy companion and help mate. She possessed tack, ability and energy. She became a director in the bank and managed the estate left to her successfully. Not only that, but she did it in a way to conserve the high respect and esteem in which she had always been held.
