Description	:	Henrietta Bird was born on a farm northeast of Lennox, SD on Dec. 2, 1898, the daughter of Henry and Jantje Stoffers. She attended public school and grew to womanhood at Lennox. In 1921 she was married to William Dede. Following their marriage they farmed south of Vienna, SD, and moved into Hayti in 1938. Her husband died in 1940. In 1944 she was married to Vinton C. Read More	Henrietta Bird was born on a farm northeast of Lennox, SD on Dec. 2, 1898, the daughter of Henry and Jantje Stoffers. She attended public school and grew to womanhood at Lennox. In 1921 she was married to William Dede. Following their marriage they farmed south of Vienna, SD, and moved into Hayti in 1938. Her husband died in 1940. In 1944 she was married to Vinton C. Bird and they made their home at Blue Earth, MN. He preceded her in death in 1961. She moved to Sioux Falls in 1967, where she made her home with her daughter Matie. Due to failing health she became a resident of the Lennox Good Samaritan Center in Jan. of 1968. Following a lengthy illness, Mrs. Bird died at the Lennox Good Samaritan Center on May 19, 1979, having attained the age of 80 years, five months and 17 days. Surviving are six step-daughters: Mrs. Archie (Shirley) Bolin of Manly, IA, Mrs Lester (Jeanette) Keiser and Mrs. Albert (Adeline) Schmidt, both of Hayti, SD, Mrs Mary Jensen of Bryant, SD, Mrs Tena Iben of Sioux Falls and Mrs. Art (Matie) Rollert of Sun City, AZ and Dick Dede of Peoria AZ; 18 grandchildren; several great and great-great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
