Description	:	Henry A. (Hank) Lentfer was born October 9, 1918, at the farm near Strang to Julius and Sophie Lentfer. He passed away June 12, 2000 at the Medical Center in Weslaco, Texas at the age of 81. He was one of 12 children in the family. He was married to Irene Braden of Geneva on March 29, 1939. Read More	Henry A. (Hank) Lentfer was born October 9, 1918, at the farm near Strang to Julius and Sophie Lentfer. He passed away June 12, 2000 at the Medical Center in Weslaco, Texas at the age of 81. He was one of 12 children in the family. He was married to Irene Braden of Geneva on March 29, 1939. He was inducted into the Army and served in Europe during World War II as Military Police Officer. After the war, he and Irene lived in Lincoln, where Henry worked for the University of Nebraska at the tractor testing lab. They moved to Waterloo, Iowa in 1955 where Hank worked for John Deere until retirement. After he retired, they made their home in Weslaco, Texas. Henry and Irene enjoyed camping, fishing and being with friends and family. One of his favorite hobbies was wood-carving. Henry was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Alice; and brothers, Ernest, Edwin and George. He is survived by his wife, Irene; sons, James Lentfer, Paul and Cathy Lentfer; four grandchildren, Tai, Tony, Josh and Hanna; a step-granddaughter and two step-great-grandchildren; brothers Ervin, Julius, Raymond and Lawrence; sisters, Wilma Getz, Alberta Hulse, LuEtta Strothkamp; numerous nieces and nephews and many friends. Funeral services were held at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Friday, June 16, 2000 at 10 a.m. Burial with military graveside services were at St. Joseph Cemetery.
