He married Ellinor Hockett on June 23, 1940, in Grand Junction. He graduated from Loveland High School in 1935. He graduated from Colorado A&M (now CSU), in Fort Collins in 1939, with a teaching degree in vocational agriculture. He began teaching in Grand Junction at Mesa College. Cross, 74, of Loveland, CO, died Dec. 31, 1991. He was born Jan. 10, 1917, in Loveland to Albert Celestus Cross and Elizabeth Koenig Cross. He married Ellinor Hockett on June 23, 1940, in Grand Junction. He graduated from Loveland High School in 1935. He graduated from Colorado A&M (now CSU), in Fort Collins in 1939, with a teaching degree in vocational agriculture. He began teaching in Grand Junction at Mesa College. In the fall of 1940, he and his wife moved to Platteville where he taught at Platteville High School. They moved to Loveland in 1942. He served in the U.S. Navy in 1945. When he was discharged, he returned to Loveland and taught a farming program to the veterans. Later, he worked for the Thompson School District R2-J as a school bus driver and later became superintendent of transportation until he retired in 1977. When he retired from the school system, he became manager of the Big Thompson Federal Credit Union from 1977 to 1985. He was a member of Galilee Baptist Church, served on the Big Thompson Federal Credit Union as chairman and a board member, was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and had served as its chairman, and served on the board for Care-A-Van. He is survived by his wife, Ellinor Cross of Loveland; three sons, Albert L. Cross and wife Effie of Loveland, David Lee Cross and wife Patti of Littleton, and Edwin C. Cross and wife Connie of Ault; one daughter, Martha Kay Barksdale and husband William of Colorado Springs; one brother, Irving C. Cross and wife Patty of Fort Collins; one sister, Ester Smith and husband Glenn of Windsor; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by an infant sister, Helen Cross; a sister, Ida Parks; and a brother, Leonard Cross. Cremation.--Fence Post, Jan. 20, 1992
