Description	:	OBIT: Henry Allen Louis Surbuer was born in Andrew County, Missouri, on February 22nd, 1842, and passed away at his home April 30th, 1925, aged 83 years, 2 months and 7 days. He enlisted with Co. ? of Missouri and served for three year during the Civil War. He has lived in Eddyville and vicinity for the past thirty two years. Read More	OBIT: Henry Allen Louis Surbuer was born in Andrew County, Missouri, on February 22nd, 1842, and passed away at his home April 30th, 1925, aged 83 years, 2 months and 7 days. He enlisted with Co. ? of Missouri and served for three year during the Civil War. He has lived in Eddyville and vicinity for the past thirty two years. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Charlotte Surbuer; three sons, James of Rex No. 5, Ed (address unknown), and W. H. Surbuer of Eddyville; two daughters, Mrs. Delpha Terrell of Wright and Mrs. Maggie Haggerman of Hutchinson, Kan. Three children, Arthur, Charley and Belle, preceded him in death. Mr. Surbuer was a kind husband, and ever thoughtful of his home and family and ever ready to lend a helping hand. In Missouri and after coming to Iowa he worked as pit boss around a number of mines. He served as city marshal for thirteen years and as constable seven years, and was a friend to both young and old. He had been in poor health, for several years, but the news of his death came as a shock, to the community which in his passing has lost another highly respected citizen. Funeral services were held from the Methodist Episcopal church Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock, conducted by the pastor, Rev. J.O. Evitts. Music was furnished by a quartette composed of Miss Alice Brown, Mr. and Mrs. W.S. Shinn and Roy Lafferty, with Miss Leta Shinn at the piano. Members of the J.L. & Ed Linderman Post acted as pall bearers. Interment was made in Highland cemetery. Eddyville Tribune, May 7, 1925
