Description	:	~Obituary~ "Henry Alonzo Miller, 88 years old, died Friday morning at 8:40 at his home south of Orrick. He had been ill three weeks. He was born March 28, 1851, in Fairfield County Ohio, the son of Henry M. Miller, of Ohio, and Judith Van Dyke Miller, of Ohio. He had lived in Ray County since 1903. He had been ill three weeks. He was born March 28, 1851, in Fairfield County Ohio, the son of Henry M. Miller, of Ohio, and Judith Van Dyke Miller, of Ohio. He had lived in Ray County since 1903. He was married to Mrs. Minnie Leake Farris, of near Orrick, on August 4, 1920. Besides his wife he is survived by one son, E. P. Miller, of Kansas City, Kansas; two step children, Clyde Farris, of Uvalde, Texas; Mrs. Louis G. Bailey of Detroit, Michigan; eleven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Mr. Miller was a member of the Orrick Baptist Church and a life member of Kaw Lodge 272, A. F. & A. M. of Kansas City, Kansas. Funeral services were held at 10:00 am Sunday, December 17th at the home conducted by Rev. Butterfield of Excelsior Springs. Burial was in the South Point Cemetery. Gibson and Son were in charge of funeral arrangement. Mr. Miller was an unusual character, a man of his word, a good neighbor and true friend to those who proved the same feeling toward him. While during the past few years he could not mingle with friends as he liked to all found a hearty welcome at his home and his presence from the community will be missed." Obituary from the Orrick Advertiser, 12-21-1939 in the files of Charles E. Ross', Southwest Ray County, Clay County Archives, Liberty, Mo. Missouri death certificate #44435 for Henry A. Miller shows his burial is at South Point Cemetery but there was no stone found for him when Joyce Anderson Swearingin walked this cemetery and compiled the South Point Cemetery Book in 1990.
