Description	:	Henry August Siemsglusz, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Siemsglusz, was born August 17, 1885 at Oerbke province, Hanover, Germany. Soon after he was enrolled in God's Kingdom by Holy Baptism. When three years old, he was brought to the United States by his parents, who made their new home in Paullina, IA. Read More	Henry August Siemsglusz, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Siemsglusz, was born August 17, 1885 at Oerbke province, Hanover, Germany. Soon after he was enrolled in God's Kingdom by Holy Baptism. When three years old, he was brought to the United States by his parents, who made their new home in Paullina, IA. April 3, 1898, he was confirmed, thus renewing his pledge of faithfulness to his Savior and the Lutheran church. This pledge he has faithfully kept as a member first of Zion Lutheran church of Paullina and then of St. John's Lutheran Church of Pilger, NE where for many years now he was an active member. On Dec. 12, 1900, he entered the state of holy wedlock with Miss Frieda Gemelke. This union was blessed with five children, one of whom died in infancy. Nov. 17, 1920, his wife also preceded him into death. On May 18, 1922 he was married to Miss Ella Gemelke. God also blessed this union with the birth of a son. In April 1923, Mr. Siemsglusz and his family moved to Pilger, where he was engaged in business until two years ago. Shortly after this last Christmas his health began to fail. The doctors he consulted diagnosed his condition as cancer. After several treatments at Omaha, which gave him little relief from his severe pains, he was taken to Norfolk for a major operation, which he underwent successfully. Soon after, however, his condition made a turn for the worse. The end came about midnight, June 25th, 1935, when at the Hospital in Norfolk, surrounded by all his family, he quietly and peacefully passed away from this earth, trusting in his Savior and folding his hands in silent prayer and entered his home above. He leaves to mourn his departure, his loving and devoted wife, three sons: Alvin of Norfolk, Walter and Werner at home, two daughters, Mrs. Elsie Meyer of Pilger and Mrs. Mabel Rabbass of Wisner -- also one daughter-in-law and two sons-in-law, his aged father-in-law, Mr. Herman Gemelke, one sister, Mrs. Sophia Proehl of Paullina, IA and one brother, Mr. Otto Siemsglusz of Bingham, MN, besides many other relatives and a host of friends. He reached the age of 49 years, 10 months and 8 days. Funeral services were held June 29 at 1:30 pm from the home and 2:00 pm at the church, his pastor, Rev. Walter H. Koenig of Pilger in charge. Interment at the Pilger cemetery.
