Boner, 79, was held Monday afternoon, Aug. 22, at Goettsch funeral home with interment in Oakwood cemetery. Rev. Terry Rehling officiated. Mr. Boner died Friday afternoon, Aug. 19, at the Senior Home, where he had been a resident the past four years. He was born in Monticello July 25, 1896, son of Henry and Elizabeth Mettler Boner. Boner, 79, was held Monday afternoon, Aug. 22, at Goettsch funeral home with interment in Oakwood cemetery. Rev. Terry Rehling officiated. Mr. Boner died Friday afternoon, Aug. 19, at the Senior Home, where he had been a resident the past four years. He was born in Monticello July 25, 1896, son of Henry and Elizabeth Mettler Boner. He received his early education in Jones county rural schools. On March 20,1926, he married Ida C. Peterson and the couple farmed near Center Jet. until 1964 when they moved to Anamosa. Mrs. Boner died Aug, 30, 1968, and Mr. Boner continued to make his home in Anamosa until 1973. Surviving are two sons, Leslie of Cedar Rapids and Cecil of Anamosa; a daughter, Mrs. Ida Mae Goyer, Cedar Rapids; 11 grandchildren and five greatgrandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Mary Palmer of Marion and Mrs. Clara Stephenson, Omaha, Neb.
