He was united in marriage to Mary Wingert at Woonsocket, South Dakota on January 10, 1922, after which they settled on a farm east of Earling until 1937 when they purchased the farm on which the family now resides. They are Cyril and Alfons of Earling, Iowa; Vincent; Ralph of Conception Seminary and Joseph and Ivan at home; Mrs. Richard (Margaret) Connell of Omaha, Nebraska and Mrs. Lawrence (Theresa) Zimmerman of Westphalia, Iowa. Also six grandchildren and eight sisters and two brothers. The sisters are Sr. M. Arilda (Esther) of Breda, Iowa, Sr. M. Wunibald (Amelia) of Casanova, Wisconsin, Sr. M. Cyprian (Catherine) of La Crosse, Wisconsin and Sr. M. Charity (Martha) of Canton, Mississippi. Mrs. Henry (Dora) Muenchrath of Earling, Iowa, Mrs. Ivan (Scholastica) O'Connell of Laramie, Wyoming, Mrs. William (Frances) Hahn of Manilla, Iowa, Mrs. Alfred (Romana) Schwery of Defiance, Iowa. The brothers are Joseph Goeser of California and Cyprian Goeser of Harlan, Iowa. Funeral services were held Saturday morning, February 19, 1955 at St. Joseph's Church at Earling, at 10:00 a.m. with the Rt. Rev. Msgr. Peter A. Bissen as celebrant of the Solemn Requiem High Mass, Rev. Ralph Goeser, son of the deceased, as Deacon and Rev. Jerome Schnitker as Sub-Deacon with Joseph Bergkamp as Master of Ceremonies. Father Giles Zaramella O.S.B., of Conception was present and assisting with the choir at the Requiem High Mass were Fred Reischl, Thomas Holland, Charles Gaul and Eugene Kick, all seminarians from Conception. Pallbearers were Tony Bruck, Isadore Goeres, Henry Foxhoven, Andrew Bruck, Albert Foxhoven and Lawrence Gaul.
