Heinrich Carl Christian Wendling married Laurette (aka Lauretta, Laura) Düwell ( Düewell) (married in 1861). They had 4 children; Anna, Lauretta, Richard, and Emil. Heinrich Carl Christian Wendling married Laurette (aka Lauretta, Laura) Düwell ( Düewell) (married in 1861). They had 4 children; Anna, Lauretta, Richard, and Emil. The Heinrich Wendling family, Henry, Laurette, and their four children: Anna age 14, Lauretta age 11, Richard age 9, and Emil age 5, emigrated from Drewelow, Pommern, Germany to America in 1885. They traveled from Hamburg, Germany to New York aboard the SS Bohemia, arriving in New York on 4/18/1885. Upon arrival in the United States, their immigration papers were processed at the Castle Gardens immigration center. The family moved to Delaware County, Iowa and settled in the area near Ryan, Iowa where they farmed. The Heinrich Wendling family was one of the earliest members of the Peace Lutheran Church in Ryan, Iowa, and was one of nineteen families to sign the church constitution as a charter member of the church. The church was organized in 1888. Heinrich denounced the Emperor of Germany and became a naturalized citizen of the United States on October 17, 1892. Heinrich died on February 27, 1897 and is buried in the Golden Cemetery near Ryan, Iowa. His wife Laurette married Bernhard H. Prabel on January 25, 1900. Laurette died on July 6, 1909 and is buried in the Peace Lutheran Cemetery near Ryan, Iowa. Children Anna T. Wendling (b: 11/5/1870; d: 4/8/1894) married Carl F. Prabel. Anna and Carl had 3 children; Emma, Anna, and Ida (Edith) Lauretta E. M. Wendling (b:9/16/1873; d: 5/29/1918) married Gottlob Heiserman. Lauretta and Gottlob had 12 children; Emil, Clara, Anna, Richard, Esther, Lydia, Lauretta, Hugo, Erwin, Lena, Leroy, and Ruth. Richard C. Wendling (b:3/7/1876; d:4/5/1949) married Frieda Blaessing (Blassing). Richard and Frieda had 4 children; Eugene, Rudolph, Albert, and Emma. Emil F. C. Wendling (b:6/23/1879; d:1/20/1953) married Edith Behning. They had 5 children; Emil, Anna, Erna, Harry, and Francis.
