Uhler, who resided near Emmet died at that place Thursday afternoon of Brights disease of the kidney. The funeral took plase (sic.) Saturday morning under the auspices of Gen. John O’Neill Post Grand Army of the Republic with Rev. Washburn of Newport officiating, the services being held in the M.E church of this town. Henry C. Uhler was born in Westminster Carrol county, Maryland. When 5 years of age his parents re-moved to Adams county, Illinois. He enlisted in Company I First Iowa calvry (sic.) in 1861. Serving 4 years and nine months. He married Rebecca Scott in 1880, removed to Saundern county, Neb. In 1881 where he lived for 5 years, then to Holt county where he resided until his death. Deceased was 72 years and nine months old at the time of his death. To mourn his loss in an aged wife and one daugter (sic.), four brothers and one sister, besides a host of friends who knew and loved him. Card of Thanks Mrs. Henry C. Uhler and family desire to extend to their very kind neighbors, and others who assisted materially, during the recent illness and death of their beloved husband and father, their most sincere gratitude.
