Description	:	Henry Dietrich Hillmann was born June 9, 1876 at Neudorf in Hanover, Germany. In 1891 he emigrated to the United States, returning to Germany in 1897, where he remained for 2 years. In 1899 he came back to the United States. On Febr. 27, 1900, he married Sophia Koester. They settled on a farm 8 miles southwest of Seward, where he joined the Ruby Immanuel Lutheran church. Read More	Henry Dietrich Hillmann was born June 9, 1876 at Neudorf in Hanover, Germany. In 1891 he emigrated to the United States, returning to Germany in 1897, where he remained for 2 years. In 1899 he came back to the United States. On Febr. 27, 1900, he married Sophia Koester. They settled on a farm 8 miles southwest of Seward, where he joined the Ruby Immanuel Lutheran church. This union was blessed with three sons and two daughters. One son, William, died in 1909, at the age of 8. In 1937 they retired from the farm and took residence in Seward, where they joined the St. John's Lutheran Church. His wife preceded him in death in 1946. He died in the Seward Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, Jan. 14, 1964, at the age of 87 years. His survivors include: two sons, Theodore and Carl, of Seward; two daughters, Mrs. Frieda Beckmann and Mrs. Wilhelmina Brauer of Seward; 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held on Friday, Jan. 17, at 1:30 in St. John's Lutheran church, with Rev. L. W. Heidemann and Rev. F. Bangert in charge. Herb Peter was organist and Earlyon Lamberty soloist. Casket bearers were Andrew Anderson, Herbert Ahlschwede, Henry Gieselman, Henry Schaefer, Arthur Luebbe and Arthur Ficke. Burial was in the Greenwood cemetery.
