Read More	* IN LOVING MEMORY OF * Henry E. Anderson was born on Friday; November 14, 1913, in Sioux City; Woodbury County, Iowa. Henry was the son of Ernest and Mary (Johnson) Anderson. He graduated from Akron (Iowa) High School in 1932, and attended the National Business Training College in Sioux City. He married Dorothy M. Carlson on Saturday; July 15, 1939, in Sioux City. She passed away on Thursday; May 23, 2002, in Sioux City. In 1934, he started working at the Sioux City Stockyards. He continued to work at the stockyards for 50 years, with 40 of those years serving with the Sioux City Livestock Commission Company, of which he was a partner. He retired from the stockyards on Monday; December 31, 1984 and officially retired in 1987. He enjoyed writing and sending cards to family and friends, talking on the phone and candy. He was best known as a great people person and enjoyed life. He was a member of Saint Luke Lutheran Church, the Sioux City Livestock Exchange and the Stockyards Booster Club. Henry E. Anderson, age 93, of Sioux City passed away on Monday; May 28, 2007, at Sunrise Retirement Community in Sioux City; Woodbury County, Iowa. Those left to mourn his passing are: two daughters: Jane (Bruce) Johnson of LaCosta, California and Linda (Beck) Amundson of Baraboo; Sauk County, Wisconsin. Three grandchildren: Noel (Jodi) Johnson of Carlsbad; San Diego County, California. Mellissa Amundson of Chicago; Cook County, Illinois and Ryan Amundson of Madison; Dane County, Wisconsin. Two great-grandchildren: Hannah and Aaron Johnson. Two brothers: Milton (Mary) Anderson and Stanley (Janet) Anderson, all of Akron; Plymouth County, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a grandson: Eric. A sister: LaVern Dowling and a brother: Russell Anderson. May they rest in peace. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday; June 1, 2007 with the family present from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday; June 2, 2007 at Saint Luke Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Craig Bock officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Saint Luke Lutheran Church or the Sioux City Stockyards History Preservation Fund.
