Read More	Andrews, SC: Henry Edsel Hemingway, Sr. 91, widower of Margaret Anne Rhem Hemingway, died January 20, 2022, at his residence. Mr. Hemingway was born in Andrews, SC on July 27, 1930, a son of the late William Lewis Hemingway and Basil Eaddy Hemingway. Mr. Hemingway grew up in Andrews and graduated from Andrews High School, attended the Citadel and graduated from Kings Business School in Charlotte, NC. He was a faithful member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Mr. Hemingway was an accomplished businessman, and was synonymous with Hemingway Motor Co., H&S Oil Co., Big 4 Tobacco Warehouse, Allied Credit Service, Mingo Esso, the D. D. Rhem Store and the Farm Equipment Company. He loved farming and hunting and fishing in the Rhems Community along Mingo Creek where he founded the Back Woods Quail Club. He was a volunteer Fireman for the Town of Andrews; and served on the Andrews town council. He served as a Georgetown County Councilman for thirty-four years. Mr. Hemingway loved Clemson and was one of the most dedicated fans. One of the most interesting facts about Edsel was "He has never been in a Walmart" In addition to his parents and his wife, Mr. Hemingway is predeceased by, a brother, Lorin Hemingway and two grandsons, Rod and Andy Chandler. Surviving are his five children, Sel Hemingway (Kathy), Melanie Chandler (Barry), Ellen Morris (Michael), Bill Hemingway and Rick Hemingway (Lindsay); thirteen grandchildren, and eighteen great-grandchildren; two sisters, Bert Hemingway Bunch and Patricia Hemingway Campbell. Funeral Services will be held at two o'clock on Monday, January 24, 2022, in Trinity United Methodist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Jeff Roper and the Rev. Dr. Ben Gafford. Burial will follow in Andrews Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday evening at the Trinity United Methodist Church Family Life Center from three until five o'clock. Memorials are suggested to: Trinity United Methodist Church, 205 South Rosemary Ave., Andrews, SC 29510 and Union United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, 8199 Rose Hill Rd. Georgetown, SC 29440.
