Description	:	OTTER CREEK Last Wednesday night, Mr. Ned Heffron, an old resident of this community died at his home in this neighborhood. Mr. Heffron had been in failing health for sometime, yet it was not considered by the family that the end was so near until about two hours before his death. Ned as all his friends had known him, was a life long resident of this place, having come here in the early days and saw Pleasant township grow from a prairie into a thickly settled neighborhood. Read More	OTTER CREEK Last Wednesday night, Mr. Ned Heffron, an old resident of this community died at his home in this neighborhood. Mr. Heffron had been in failing health for sometime, yet it was not considered by the family that the end was so near until about two hours before his death. Ned as all his friends had known him, was a life long resident of this place, having come here in the early days and saw Pleasant township grow from a prairie into a thickly settled neighborhood. He was the father of ten children, three having been called away several years ago. He is survived by his wife and seven children beside two sisters. The funeral was held at the Catholic church on Saturday morning. The remains were laid to rest in the Catholic cemetery west of town. The deepest of sympathy of the community is extended to the bereaved wife and children in this their hour of sadness. [The Daily Republican (Burlington, Kansas) - Thursday, December 15, 1910] H. E. HEFFRON, farmer, Section 7, P. O. Burlington, was born in Kentucky in 1851, and in 1855, when he was four year (sic) of age, his parents moved to Kansas and located near Leavenworth. He lived there two years and moved to Coffey County in May, 1857, locating in Pleasant Township, where he engaged in farming and stock raising. He was married in Coffey County, in 1876, to Miss Mary Grennan, a native of New York. They have two children, Michael and Rosey. Mr. Heffron is a member of the Catholic Church. [William G.
