Description	:	Henry was the son of Joseph Bowker and Nancy Ann Paul. Henry E. Bowker was born in Barnegat, January 2, 1848, and died in the place of his birth, March 2, 1910. Receiving his education in the public schools of Manahawkin, he was interested from boyhood in the affairs of the home farm and from early life assisted his father about the place. Remaining active in farm affairs throughout his entire career, Mr. Bowker developed the homestead to a very high state of cultivation and became one of the most esteemed men of his day in this section. A Democrat in politics... Read More	Henry was the son of Joseph Bowker and Nancy Ann Paul. Henry E. Bowker was born in Barnegat, January 2, 1848, and died in the place of his birth, March 2, 1910. Receiving his education in the public schools of Manahawkin, he was interested from boyhood in the affairs of the home farm and from early life assisted his father about the place. Remaining active in farm affairs throughout his entire career, Mr. Bowker developed the homestead to a very high state of cultivation and became one of the most esteemed men of his day in this section. A Democrat in politics he was for many years active as township committeeman, also as overseer of roads, and in these capacities he did much for the progress and welfare of the community. Fraternally Mr. Bowker was affiliated with Barnegat Lodge, Knights of Pythias, and he was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church. He was the husband of Oscaretta V. Vanderhoff. They were married in about 1873.
