Henry, son of Leonard and Augusta Erlbacher, was born October 17, 1885 at Earling where he attended school and assisted his father in farming until 1914 when he started farming on another of his father's farms five miles north of Earling, where he remained until he retired with his sister and husband, Mr and Mrs Bernard Ahart. During the years he spent on the farm, his home was maintained by three of his sisters, Lena (Mrs John Bissen), Johanna (Mrs P J Greteman) and Dora ( Mrs Bernard Ahart). Early in February 1950, Hnry entered St Joseph's hospital where he remained until July when he came home. However, he re-entered the hospital late in September where he was cared for until four days prior to his death when he was brought to the home of his sister, Mrs Dora Ahart, with the consent of the doctor who had done everything humanly possible for him. He passed away Tuesday evening, June 5, 1951, well fortified with the Rites of the Catholic church. His father preceded him in death on the same date 14 years earlier and his mother died September 3, 1924. His health failed several years before he entered the hospital, but for the last year and a half he was confined to his bed almost constantly. He bore his affliction with admirable patience and resignation. Mr Erlbacher was an ardent and faithful church member who always cooperated wholeheartedly when called upon for any church or civic undertaking. He was a member of St Joseph's church, th Holy Name society, the Knights of Columbus and the Commercial and Civic club. He is survived by three brothers and six sisters, 18 nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Pallbearers were six nephews of the deceased.
