He was born July 24, 1930 in Sharonville, the son of the late Henry and Ottillia Wilhelm Burwinkel. Mr. Burwinkel was a lifelong farmer. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, Farm Bureau and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Burwinkel, 83, of Hillsboro died Monday, July 29, 2013 at the Crestwood Nursing Center. He was born July 24, 1930 in Sharonville, the son of the late Henry and Ottillia Wilhelm Burwinkel. Mr. Burwinkel was a lifelong farmer. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, Farm Bureau and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He is survived by his wife, Olive Belle Eaglin Dean Burwinkel, whom he married on May 8, 2004; one daughter, Dr. Ann M. (Mark) McKenzie of Wilmington; sons Dr. Thomas H. (Dr. Lori Hemmelgarn) Burwinkel of Dayton, Dr. Philip A. (Kati) Burwinkel of Hillsboro, Dr. Ronald P. (Mary Jo) Burwinkel of Cleveland, and Henry J. "Bud" (Pam) Burwinkel of Mason; 13 grandchildren, Lisa, Michael, Jeffery, Kelli, Emily, Evan, Paul, Jim, John Burwinkel, Anna Rose and Mary Jean McKenzie and Zachary and Madison Burwinkel; and one brother, the Rev. Elmer Burwinkel of Indiana. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Anna Rose Leesmann Burwinkel, on March 19, 1999; and by three brothers, Eugene, Walter and Anthony Burwinkel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 2 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Hillsboro. Father Michael Paraniuk will be the celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery in Hillsboro. Friends may call on Thursday from 5-8 p.m. at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
