Description	:	Boone County Democrat December 18, 1913 Henry Friedley was born in Clark county, Indiana, February 20, 1834, and when quite young his parents moved to Clay county of that state. He was left an orphan at the age of 15, and from that time until married he made his home with his brother-in-law, W.L. Defore. Read More	Boone County Democrat December 18, 1913 Henry Friedley was born in Clark county, Indiana, February 20, 1834, and when quite young his parents moved to Clay county of that state. He was left an orphan at the age of 15, and from that time until married he made his home with his brother-in-law, W.L. Defore. In the fall of 1850 they came to Belle Point in the south part of this county, and in the spring of 1851 moved to Dodge township where he lived until the fall of 1903. Since that time the made his home with his son, J.S., of Puyallup, Washington, where he died December 4, 1913. He was married to Mary D. Coe, August 26, 1858. To them were born five children, John S., Florence M., Clara, Ed and Iva. Four of them are still living, John S. of Puyallup and Iva, (now Mrs. C.T. Burk in Tacoma, Washington;) Florence, the wife of J.B. Condon, and Ed are living here. Clara died October 13, 1891, and his wife April 11, 1899. He was one of the original members of the Ridgeport Methodist church and was converted at a meeting held in the Wilson school house by Wm. Cook Martin in 1867. Mr. Friedley was an earnest Christian man, loyal to his church and a friend of all men. His religious experience was of a cheerful type. He enjoyed religion and as a result was patient in tribulation, and when the end came the victory was complete. His last message, almost his last words to his children and his friends are the two final verses of the last chapter of Ecclesiastes. For the past five years he was entirely deaf. The funeral services were held from the First M.E. church of Ridgeport at 11:30 Thursday morning conducted by the Rev. J.F. Howard, pastor of the Mineral Ridge church, the burial was in the Mineral Ridge cemetery. No man of the pioneer days of this county probably had a wider circle of friends. Henry Friedley was known by all and loved by all. For twenty years he was engaged in the nursery business and this brought him into contact with people all over the community. ~~~~~~~~~ Son of Daniel Friedley (1798-1849) and Rebecca Heistand (1808-1846)
