Description	:	Funeral services for Henry Gering, Route 1, Odessa, were held Wednesday, Feb 12, at the Menno Mennonite church with the Rev Harris Waltner officiating. Gering was born March 25, 1889 at Freeman, SD, and died at Sacred Heart hospital in Spokane Feb 8. He was active in farming in this area for 45 years. He is survived by his wife, Bertha; three daughters, Mrs Victor (Carolyn) Lattin of Olympia, Mrs Edward (Ann) Farrelly of Brentwood, NY, and Mrs Kenneth (Lois) McMillan of Odessa; and six sons, Martin of Ritzville, Howard of Odessa, the Rev Paul of Belfair, Kenneth of Tolleson, AZ, Floyd of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, and Virgil of Spokane. Four sisters survive. They are Mrs Lena Schrag of Odessa, Mrs Alvin Moyer of Sutherlin, OR, Mrs Anna Naffzigar of Colfax, and Mrs Carl Hardt of Bremerton. Surviving brothers include Joe Gering of Ritzville and Martin Gering of Monroe. There are nine grandchildren. A male quartet sang ‘O That Beautiful Stream' and ‘The Eastern Gate' at the services. Members were Walter Jantz, Joe Jantz, Leslie Schrag and Ralph Gering. They were accompanied at the organ by Mrs Joe Jantz. Pallbearers were Sam Graber, Jess Graber, Harold Franz, Walter Gering, David Schrag, and Gayle Gering. Interment was in the Mennonite Cemetery.
