Walker, former resident of the Blue Hill community, occurred at his home at Sidney, Nebraska on Saturday. Funeral services were held in Sidney Sunday afternoon at two o’clock at the Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Crone, pastor of the Sidney St. Paul’s Lutheran church in charge. The body was brought to Blue Hill, arriving Tuesday morning and final rites were held at Sr. Paul’s Lutheran church Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock with Rev. G.F.R. Duhrkop, of Hildreth, former pastor in charge. Music was furnished by Mrs. James Maruska and Mrs. Glenn Blauch with organ accompaniment by Miss Frances Greene. Pallbearers were Rheinhart Wibben, Herbert Goll, John Bock, Wm. Seeman, Albert Arterburn, and Fred Luhn. Burial was in the Blue Hill cemetery with Merten Bros. Funeral Home in charge. The body was accompanied to Blue Hill by Mr. and Mrs. J.D. Walker, Mr. Walker is a brother of the deceased. Henry Godfred Walker, son of Adam and Dorothy Walker, was born in Sugar Grove, Fairfield County, Ohio, on April 28, 1869. Here he was baptized in the Lutheran faith. In the year 1885 he was confirmed by Rev. Faulk, south of Blue Hill. He came with his parents to Blue Hill, Nebraska in the spring of 1879 where he grew to manhood. In the year 1906 he moved to Ord, Nebraska, where he engaged in ranching. He moved to a ranch near Sidney, Nebraska in 1910 and resided there until the time of his death, with the exception of the years 1916 and 1917 which were spent in Lincoln. After a short illness he passed away at his home on February 9, 1940. He attained the age of 70 years 9 months and 11 days. The deceased leaves to mourn his death two brothers and four sisters: J.D. Walker of Sidney, Nebr.; Mrs. Mae McCord of Shelton, Nebr.; Mrs. Rose Howe of Bladen; Miss Emily Walker, G.A. Walker and Mrs. Drue Davis, all of Blue Hill; also two sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law, two nephews and five nieces. His parents and his sister, Anna, preceded him in death.
