Death Occurred Several Days Before Body Was Discovered By Neighbor The body of H. H. Dimock was brought to Fort Benton Friday from his ranch 20 miles north of this city. Ed Curran went to the ranch on Thursday when he had failed to see anything of Mr. Dimock for a few days and upon reaching his house found his body within, death evidently taking place several days before. The coroner found that death was caused by gastric indigestion. Mr. Dimock is well known to a large number of residents of this section of the county and to many of the older residents. He came to Montana in 1890 and has since made his home. He was of the true pioneer spirit, always wanting to be ahead of the large band of settlers in a community and living the greater part of his life alone. Mr. Dimock was born in Nova Scotia on Nov. 22, 1856, and came to the United States about 1855 settling in the state of Maine where he resided until he came to this state in 1890. He homesteaded in Cascade county and lived there until he filed on a desert claim at the home where he passed away. This filing was made in 1898 and since that time he has added to his holdings. He was married in 1888 to Nettie Clark in Maine, and to this union three children were born: Two sons, Woodferd E., of Livingston, and Cuthbert, and a daughter, Mrs. A. A. Pyfer, of Three Forks, Mont., all of whom arrived to attend the funeral services. The wife and mother, who has made her home for the past few years with her children, was unable to come. Mr. Dimock was a member of the Methodist Church and took an active part in the religious work of his neighborhood, teaching a Sunday school class for a number of years. He was held in the highest esteem by his large circle of friends and his passing will be a distinct loss to the community in which he has lived for several years. Funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon from the Louther chapel and were conducted by Rev. W. P. Jinnett, and interment made in Riverside cemetery. The relatives have the sympathy of the community in their bereavement.
