The Rev. Harvey O. Gilbertson officiated at the services. Mr. Hayen died Nov. 12 in the John McDonald Hospital, Monticello. He was born near Scotch Grove, July 20, 1901, the son of john H. and his wife Mary Rickels Hayen. He received his early education near the place of his birth. Henry Hayen and Berniece Hanken were married in St. John Lutheran Church near Monticello, May 2, 1934. Following their marriage, the couple farmed in the Scotch Grove community until 1967, when they moved to their present home. Mr. Hayen was baptized and confirmed in the Wayne Zion Lutheran Church and has always held his membership there. He is survived by his wife and three children, Mrs. Roger (Doris) Childs, San Mateo, Calif.; Dean H Hayen, Scotch Grove, and Mrs. Ronald (Phyllis) Landis, Cedar Rapids. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, a sister, Mrs. Hannah Behrends, Anamosa, and a brother Louie Hayen, Amber. He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant sister and a half-brother, Galen Hayen. Casketbearers were Virgil Behrends, Walter Hanken, Syl Scholbrock, Harlan Hanken, Phillip Hanken, Steven Hanken.
