Mr. Heinen was born in Roehl, Germany, on March 3, 1835. He came to this country when he was 21 years of age, and located on the farm near Freeport, Illinois. He later moved to a farm near Waterloo, where he was engaged in farming for 25 years. 20 years ago, he came to this community engaged in farming on a place he bought four miles north of Iowa Falls. About 12 years ago, he retired from active life and moved to this city. He was united in marriage to Miss Annie Brock near Sterling, Illinois, on March 20, 1862. This union [produced] six children, Mary dying at the age of 25 and Jennie at the age of three. The four children living reside as follows: Jackson H. Heinen, Los Angeles; Edna Stoddard, Sterling, Illinois; Fred H. Heinen, Omaha; and Will C. Heinen, Telluride, Colo. This children will all be present at the funeral. The wife and mother died in 1887. In 1899, Mr. Heinen was married to Miss Mary Scott, but no children were born to this union. Henry Heinen was a member of the Methodist Church for many years and was an exemplary citizen.
