Death was due to cancer of the stomach, from which he suffered for the last ten weeks. When his true condition was ascertained he was permitted to go home so that he could spend the remaining days of his life with his family. Henry Theisen was born November 22, 1857 at Cross Plains, Wis. When eleven years of age he came with his parents to Nebraska first settling near Scribner in Dodge County. Later the deceased bought an eighty acre farm in the county. This farm he sold some years later and then purchased a farm three and one half miles north of West Point, on which he spent the remained of his active days. On October 28, 1884 Mr. Theisen was joined in marriage to Miss Emma Kerl. This union was blessed with three sons: W. W. Theisen, Milwaukee, Wis., H. H. Theisen, Antigo, Wis. and R. L. Theisen, Lincoln. The family was born on the farm north of this city, where the parents remained until 1907, when they retired and moved to West Point, which has been the home ever since. Mr. Theisen was a man of a quiet disposition, modest in his manners and kind in his actions with his fellow men. Although he never held public office, he took a keen interest in civil affairs and contributed his share towards the interest of good government. In the home he was a good husband and father and proved liberally for the education of his children. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the home, Rev. W. F. Rangeler officiating. As pallbearers were: Soren Nelson, J. W. Rich, Fred Ruediger, Charles Beckenhauer, Florand Krause and S. P. Johnson. Interment was made in Mt. Hope Cemetery."
