Description	:	Henry Jerry "Hank" Lisec, 89, of Angier, North Carolina formerly of Mitchell, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday at the Oaks of Carolina, with his loving family by his side. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 6, at 10 a.m., at New Hope Presbyterian Church in Willow Spring, NC, with Rev. Tom Westfall officiating. A graveside service with inurnment will be held at a later date, at Mitchell Cemetery, Pastor Dale Brown officiating. Jones Mortuary in Mitchell is assisting the family with arrangements in Nebraska. The family will receive friends Monday, May 5 from 7-9 p.m. at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, 300 East McIver St. Angier, N.C. Henry was born to Vaclav and Rose (Musil) Lisec. He was born on the family farm in Wilber, and was raised and educated in the Wilber area. In 1937, he joined the Civilian Conservation Corps in Denton. In 1939, he moved to Bridgeport, with the CCC and worked as a clerk. That is where he met and married Euteva (Ware) on June 28, 1940, and to this union their two sons were born, Garry and Ronald. In 1941, they moved to Sidney, where he worked for the Burlington Railroad as a station helper at the depot. He then went to work for Corbeta Construction at the Sioux Ordinance Depot as a truck driver and foreman, where they built Igloos, which stored bombs during WWII. In 1943 as WWII began, he enlisted in the US Army Airborne Engineers; going to Jefferson Barracks, Mo, for training. After a knee injury and surgery, he was transferred to Patterson Field Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio, where he worked as a clerk. He attended school in San Antonio, Texas. He then went to Tinker Field Air Force Base in Oklahoma City, Okla., with the 871st Signal CO. Depot Aviation Group. In March of 1945, Henry shipped out to Seattle, Wash., where he was sent to the 20th on Guam, in the Pacific theater. This is where he kept large generators operating, which provided electricity for the base. Corporal Henry received an honorable discharge in 1946 on the point system, and returned home from Guam In 1946, he moved his family to Mitchell where they raised their two sons. Henry then began working for the Soil Conservation Service in Scottsbluff, where he worked until his retirement in 1979, as an engineering technician. Henry was a member of the Federated Church in Mitchell until they moved to North Carolina in 1994, when he joined New Hope Presbyterian Church in Willow Spring, NC. He enjoyed the work that he and Euteva did at the church. He was a member of the I.O.F. Lodge in Mitchell, and enjoyed his lodge work. Henry loved camping, and belonged to the Red Dale Camping Club; serving as head scout for several years, and one year as a national officer. Henry enjoyed his two sons, never missing a football or basketball game in the 10 years they played. He attended several of his only grandson, Scott's games. Henry loved to fish especially with his granddaughter, Dawn, and spent many summers fishing with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed watching his great-grandsons, Isaiah and Jarred and his great-granddaughters, Kendra, Isabella and Ilaina, playing sports and music. Henry and Euteva enjoyed 23 years of camping and fishing with their family and friends. Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Euteva of Angier; sons, Garry Lisec and wife, Karen of Wake Forest, NC; and Ronald Lisec of Chester SC; grandson, Scott Lisec and wife, Vikki of Clayton, NC; granddaughter, Dawn Hertzig and husband, Paul of Wake Forest, and Pamela of Colo.; his brother, Joseph Lisec of Desert Hot Springs, Calif.; seven great-grandchildren; and many nephews and nieces. Henry was preceded in death by his brothers, William, James, Fred, Thomas, John and infant, Edward; and his sister, Rose Beleholavy.
