He passed away at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lincoln April 13, 1953, at the age of 84 years, 8 months and 7 days. At the age of nineteen he came to America, settling on a farm north of Friend with an uncle. February 5, 1894, he was united in marriage to Mary Becker. To this union nine children were born. He passed away at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lincoln April 13, 1953, at the age of 84 years, 8 months and 7 days. Left to mourn his death are three sons, Henry, Joseph and Rudolph of Exeter a daughter, Mrs. Clara Biester of Geneva; two grandsons; five granddaughters,; one sister, Mrs. Anna Becker of Exeter and one brother, Herb Jansen of O'Neil. Burial was in the Exeter Cemetery with a short service at the Farmer Funeral Home April 15, at 10 o'clock. Msgr. Patrick J. Healy officiated.
