Description	:	CLINTON, Iowa — Henry Junior Luckritz, 85, of Clinton, died Saturday, October 8, 2011, at Mercy Medical Center North in Clinton. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 13, at St. John Lutheran Church. The Rev. Dan Pool will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Pape Funeral Home and from 9:30 a.m. until the service time Thursday at the church. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery. Henry was born in Clinton on August 19, 1929, the son of Henry and Augusta (Wascho) Luckritz. He graduated from Lyons High School in 1944. Henry served with the U.S. Army in the South Pacific during World War II. He received the Purple Heart for wounds he received by a Japanese sniper during the battle for Mindanao Island. He married Marlene Holm on February 26, 1972, at St. John Lutheran Church. Marlene died on December 6, 2008. Henry had been employed with Tode Lumber, Eclipse Lumber and later for over 20 years with Fullerton Lumber. After his retirement, he worked part time for the Pete Glass Company. He was a life time member and very active at St. John Lutheran Church where he was a charter member of the Clinton Lutheran Hour. Henry was a member of the American Legion, AMVETS, Disabled American Veterans and the V.F.W. He enjoyed gardening, landscaping, decorating his yard at Christmas, bowling and pipe organs. Henry is survived by a sister, Leona Geffers of DeWitt; a brother-in-law, Rodger (Dolores) Holm of Clinton; a sister-in-law, Margie Higgins of Bettendorf; special nieces and nephews, Carol and Bryan Starr of DeWitt, Cindy Anderson of American Canyon, Calif., Kenny (Diane) Geffers of Grand Mound, Jenny and Sam Rickerl of Clinton and Julie and Dan Sullivan of Clinton; as well as many great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and a brother-in-law, Kenneth Geffers.
