Henry met and married Catherine Hoover of Pleasant Township, Ohio in 1818. Early family records state Henry was a skilled mechanic and fine woodworker. He utilized his talents by making cabinets and coffins and three tined wooden forks used for haying. His physical description lists him at nearly six feet tall and weighing 180 pounds.
