In his 23rd year he moved to Indiana and was married to Miss Rebecca Roberts in Linn County, Iowa, Nov. 30, 1856. In his 23rd year he moved to Indiana and was married to Miss Rebecca Roberts in Linn County, Iowa, Nov. 30, 1856. Together they took up their residence at Lebanon, Indiana, where the following children were born: Mrs. Maude Holland, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Mrs. Bessie Vogle, and Mrs. Bell Beesley, of Fletcher, Oklahoma, Mrs. Ida Fisher and Mrs. Shaffer, Caney, Kansas, Mrs. Kat Boggs, who was unable to attend the funeral on account of her husband’s illness, resides in Williamsport, Indiana. Mrs. Carrie McMillian, deceased was the mother of Mesdames VanNatta and Fleming of this city. Two children having died in infancy. Mrs. Schlosser’s wife having died May 24, 1874, he was married to Elizabeth C. Neil, April 11, 1877, who has been a faithful mother to his children, bearing the following: Mrs. Edith Erwin, Earl and Coy Schlosser, now of Chanute Kansas. Dale and Leland at home in Dunlap. Two children of this union also died in infancy. Twenty-six grand-children together with his brother, Daniel Schlosser, and two sisters, Mrs. McCallister and Mrs. Ringer, of West Lebanon, Indiana, are his living relatives. In 1878, Mr. Schlosser moved near Dunlap and had been identified with that town for 34 years, as a farmer, builder and merchant. He retired from business some ten years ago. He was continued in office however, until death, served two terms as mayor. He was a man of strong constitution seldom sick until last October. He was spared great suffering and patiently waited the end. He is reputed to have been a faithful husband, a devoted father and loyal citizen. Funeral services were held from the Methodist church in Dunlap, March 14, 1912, under the direction of the local Knights of Pythias, Rev. J. W. R. Clardy of this city preached the sermon. The main errors corrected are the name of his first wife. It should be Rebecca Ellen Roberts. The county in Iowa should be Linn. The married names of some of the children had spelling errors. Any remaining errors can be easily detected by any reader. He is probably buried in the Dunlap Cemetery. All information suggests this is most likely his resting place.
