Description	:	Obituary for Henry Lafrentz: Funeral services for Henry Lafrentz of Dow City were held Thursday at the Evangelical and Reformed church in Schleswig. Henry was born July 16 1869 in Jackson county and died April 14 1953 at the Denison Memorial Hospital. In March 1879 the family moved to Crawford county and settled 3 miles east of Schleswig. Read More	Obituary for Henry Lafrentz: Funeral services for Henry Lafrentz of Dow City were held Thursday at the Evangelical and Reformed church in Schleswig. Henry was born July 16 1869 in Jackson county and died April 14 1953 at the Denison Memorial Hospital. In March 1879 the family moved to Crawford county and settled 3 miles east of Schleswig. On May 15 1895 he was married to Cecelia Carstens. The couple had 5 children: (1) Nick, (2) Helma, (3) Irene, (4) Lorinda and (5) a son who died in infancy. The family lived on a farm east of Schleswig, where he carried on extensive farming. In 1915 they moved to Schleswig to make their home. They remained here until 1934, when they moved to Dow City where they made their home until the time of his death. Survivors are his immediate family, and many relatives and friends. Burial was made in the Morgan cemetery. The following were the pallbearers: (1) Louis Thiede, (2) Arthur Lafrentz, (3) Walter Gosen, (4) Harry Wellendorf, (5) Alfred Carstens and (6) Conrad Carstens. Persons who attended the funeral included Mr and Mrs Pete Werner and Albert Schmidt of Holstein, Henry Hansen, Franklin Minn, Mr and Mrs August Hensen, Minneapolis; Mrs James Tucker, Big Spring Texas and Mr and Mrs Nicholas Lafrentz and Frances of Sioux City.
