Wigfield, 66, Dies on His Farm. Funeral services for Henry Mertin Wigfield, 66, RFD 2, Flintstone Creek Road, Pa., who died of a heart attack in a field on his farm yesterday morning, will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Hafer Funeral Home here. The Rev. B. F. Hartman, of the Flintstone Methodist circuit, assisted by the Rev. Howard Whitacre, Pastor of the Church of Brethren, Flintstone, will officiate. Interment will be in the Odd Fellows Cemetery at Flintstone. Wigfield disappeared 20 years to the day after the body of his son Dolph was found under similar circumstances. The youth, then about 19 or 20, went squirrel hunting August 24, 1928, and accidentally shot himself, members of the family said. The body was not found until four days later, August 28. Coroner Vernon E. Geisel of Bedford County, Pa., said that the fatal attack was probably brought on by heat and the exertion of climbing the hill. Wigfield had been in ill health for several years. The Flintstone farmer was last seen alive at 1:30 p.m. Saturday walking away from the barn. When he did not come home for supper, neighbors of the family formed a searching party that scoured the countryside all night. Matthew Bridges, Ronald Simmons and Paul Kimmel, members of the party, found the body on a hill behind the house at about 7:30 a.m. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mary R. (Casteel) Wigfield, a son, Irvin V. Wigfield, a daughter, Mrs. Emily J. Shroyer, both at home; a brother, Edward Wigfield, Flintstone, and a grandchild.
