Read More	Nov 22, 1910 - Carroll Sentinel - Henry Miller, one of the early setters of Arcadia township died at the hospital last Friday after a brief illness. The funeral services were held yesterday forenoon and his remains were laid to rest in the city cemetery. A short funeral service was held at his home in Arcadia township and the remains were then taken to the Lutheran church in this city. The church was crowded with the many friends of the deceased and a long procession followed from the home to the cemetery. For some time past Mr, Miller had not been enjoying his usual good health, but it was only a short time comparitively since he was able to be up and looking after business. About two weeks prior to his death he was taken to the hospital. During this time his wife and children were constantly with him to do all in their power to assist him to overcome the ravages of the disease which was undermining his once rugged constitution. He was afflicted with a complication of gall stones and liver trouble and failed rapidly without any apparant rally. He was a strong robust man with an iron will and a constitution sufficiently strong to enable him to accomplish almost anything in which he engaged. During the thirty years he lived in Carroll county he succeeded in accumulating a fortune and was one of the largest farmers and stock raisers in the county. He and his loving wife and family enjoyed a wide circle of friends and the Miller home was well known for its hospitalitiy. He was a noble citizen and was honored and respected by all who knew him. Henry Miller had no enemies but counted all within his acquaintance his friends. Now that he is gone his bereaved family have the sympathy of all in this sad hour of their deep affliction. Henry Miller was born in Germany, January 14, 1845 and was 65 years, 10 months and 14 days old at the time of his death. He remained in the fatherland until he was nineteen years old. He then came to America and located at Columbus, Ohio, where he remained about a year. He then moved to Peru, Illinois, where he engaged in farming for fifteen years. He then located in Carroll county in 1881 on the farm in Arcadia township where he remained until his death. In 1864 Mr. Miller was united in marriage to Miss Anna Krailing. To this union there were born six children four of whom are still living. They are Henry of Elgin, Nebraska; John of Randolph, Nebraska; Mrs. E.E. Fey of Scranton and Miss Lizize who made her home wih her parents. He also had seven grandchilden. The heart broken wife who survives him is still in good health and from all indications will live for many years to come. All the children were present at the funeral. Mrs. Miller and children desire to express their high appreciation of the many acts of kindness shown them during the sickness and death of their husband and father.
