Description	:	Henry Minor, son of John J. and Nellie DeBruyn was born in Marion county near Pella, Iowa, July 26, 1876, and passed away at the Decatur county hospital in Leon, Iowa, Dec. 18, 1956, at the age of 80 years, four months and 23 days. His early childhood was spent on a farm, which was located near an Indian reservation, and he could tell many tales of incidents with the Indians. Read More	Henry Minor, son of John J. and Nellie DeBruyn was born in Marion county near Pella, Iowa, July 26, 1876, and passed away at the Decatur county hospital in Leon, Iowa, Dec. 18, 1956, at the age of 80 years, four months and 23 days. His early childhood was spent on a farm, which was located near an Indian reservation, and he could tell many tales of incidents with the Indians. During his young manhood, he spent considerable time on the west coast around San Francisco and Spokane and also made one trip to Nome, Alaska. In 1906 he married Besse Blair and to this union were born two children, Elizabeth Smith of Harlingen, Texas, and Charles of Lamoni. After his marriage, he ran his own barbershop in Leon, but in 1916 moved to Lamoni where he was in business until 1954 when he retired. In the early days before hospitals and private nurses, he spent many a night, at the sacrifice of his own rest, helping and caring for the sick among neighbors and friends. He is survived by his children, one sister, Katherine Still of Pleasanton, and one brother, George of Waterloo, Iowa, besides a host of other relatives and friends. One brother and two sisters preceded him in death. Services were held Friday, Dec. 21 conducted by Morton Edmunds and assisted by Dick Monroe. Interment was in Rose Hill cemetery.
