The deceased was a native of Germany, having been born in that country 66 years ago the 6th of March. The deceased was a native of Germany, having been born in that country 66 years ago the 6th of March. He came to this county forty years ago and has been a resident of Muscatine for many years, being widely known in the city and much respected as a citizen of worth and sterling qualities. The decedent is survived by a wife and seven children, who mourn the loss of a loving husband and father. The children are: Mrs. Joseph Stromer, Henry, Will, George, Julius, Edward and Albert Oberhaus, Mrs. John Aller, Mrs. C. H. Dixon, of Cedar Rapids. The funeral will be held Sunday afternoon from the house, the ceremony beginning at 2 o’clock. Published in The Muscatine Journal (Muscatine, IA) pg. 1
