Dec. 15, 1919 North Manchester Journal "OLD VETERAN DIED EARLY THIS MORNING Henry Randol, an old resident and civil war veteran died this morning about 2:30 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. J. W. Sisk in the west part of town. He had been in poor health for several years with palsy and grew worse the last few weeks until Sunday evening when he suddenly became weaker and death followed. The funeral will be at the house Wednesday afternoon and burial will be in Oaklawn cemetery. Mr Radol (sic) was born in Ohio, 86 years ago November 30. He enlisted in the 118th regiment of Ohio Volunteers during the civil war and served nearly four years. He came to Huntington county after the war and has been a resident of North Manchester about 40 years. He married Miss Alice Brown and was the father of two children from this union, Mrs. Sisk and William Randol, both of this city. Mrs. Randol died about 30 years ago and he later married Mrs. Cynthia Sisk, who preceded him in death about six years ago. He was a member of the Grand Army post of this city and present plans are for the funeral to be in charge of the Grand Army veterans."
