Funeral for Mr. Sprague is scheduled for 2 p.m., today (Thursday) at the Methodist Church. Burial will be near the grave of his wife. Pallbearers for today's rites are Fora Knight, Ray Siders, Charles Cole, Emmet Wert, Lee Brady, Sr., and Harry Johnson. The late Mrs. Sprague, whose maiden name was May Belle Phillips, was born in February 1877, in Iowa. At the age of six, she came to Nebraska with her parents, the late Peter and Elizabeth Hurley Phillips. Henry Rawleigh Sprague was born on October 25, 1869, in Illinois, a son of Wallace and Emily Scott Sprague. He came to Holt County in 1876 from Illinois. Mr. Sprague and May Belle Phillips were married at Star, Nebraska, in August, 1899. They resided in Holt County until 1937 when they moved to Valentine. Survivors include: Daughters, Mrs. Ruth Pederson of Ashland, Ore., Mrs. Verna Gattenby of Kansas City, Mo., Mrs. Althea Sylvia Roseler of Salem, Ore., Taylor of Newport, Wash.; Sons, Glen of Inman, Raymond of Kansas City, Mo., Kenneth, Otto and Donald, all of Valentine. The Spragues were preceded in death by three daughters, and one son, Mrs. Bessie Gattenby, Mrs. Hazel Noble, Myra Sprague and Winfield, who died in action during World War II. Rev. W. B. Smith officiated. The Spragues were retired farmers. There are 34 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Sprague leaves one sister, Mrs. Maggie Walton, who resides in Arizona.
