Visitation will resume from 9:30 a.m. until service time on Thursday at the church. Henry Raymond Boden was born July 5, 1920, in Montrose, Missouri, the son of Henry and Louise (Firsick) Boden. Henry came to Iowa in 1938, working as a farm hand in Cherokee and Plymouth counties. Later he spent three years in Antelope County, California, working in the hay fields. After he came back to Le Mars, he began working for Wells Dairy as a bulk milk truck driver for three years. In 1942 he was drafted into the United States Army. He served in the 12th Armored Division in the European Theater during WWII. He was honorably discharged. Following his discharge, he returned to the States. He was united in marriage to Mary Ellen (Langel) Wiederholt on January 15, 1955. They farmed in Plymouth County for over 31 years, retiring in 1989. Following their retirement, they made their home in Le Mars. Mary Ellen passed on July 21, 2002, in Sioux City. Hank was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Wasmer American Legion Post 241 in Le Mars. Survivors include two brothers, LeRoy Boden of Clinton, MO, and Harold (Elaine) Boden of Montrose, MO; five sisters, Clara Mae Greufe, Florence Talley, and Eleanor Seaton, all of Clinton, MO, and Rose (Burnell) Story and Esther (Dean) Douglas of Kansas City, MO; his in-laws, Rosie Boden of Montrose, MO, Ray (Dorothy) Langel of Le Mars, Mildred Junkers of Minneapolis, MN, Isabelle Laddusaw of Remsen, IA, and Helen Langel of Norfolk, NE; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary Ellen; a brother, John Boden; two sisters, Kathryn (Bernard) Wagner and Mary (Clifford) Putthoff; and three brothers-in-law, George Greufe, Earl Talley, and Raymond Seaton.
