Description	:	HENRY REED VAN STEINBURGH Heny Reed son of Mr. and Mrs. Hugo Van Steinburg, was born in Saratoga County NY March 17, 1853 and departed this life at his home in Cantril,Ohio March 21, 1935 IA at the age of 81 years, 11 months and 22 days. He came with his parents to Van Buren County Iowa when a baby and lived on a farm near Winchester, then a promising village in the county. He came with his parents to Van Buren County Iowa when a baby and lived on a farm near Winchester, then a promising village in the county. He was united in marriage with Alice L Smith 10/14/1875 to which Union four childre were born three of whom died in infancy the surviving girl lives in Oregon Mrs Van Steinburgh the mother died some years ago. Mr Van Steinburg was a good citizen honest charitable and a home lover he spent much of his time at home. His departure leaves a faithfull companion in the eighties three children Mrs Emma Sadler of Lebanon Iowa Foster in town and Burlin of Stronghurst Ill. One brother preceded him in death also a half-brother and a half-sister have died. His half-sister Mrs Eva Beans of Winchester survives him. Four grandchildren and a host of friends and neigbors mourn his decease. Almost all of his life was spent in Van Buren county. The family greatly appreciates the kindness of their neighbors and friends during their sorrow. The funeral service were held in the M.E Church in Cantril at 2: p.m. conducted by Rev. F. M. James,interment was in the Maple Grove Cemetery. Mr W.W. Wellborn junior and sister Cleda sang three selections of songs, Miss Margaret Van Fossen at the piano. the pallbearers were Walter Miller, Henry Beaty, Monta Roberts, W A Vehslage, Ora Abernathy and George Casady. He married Miss Alice Smith who died some years later.
