Description	:	Henry Schroeder was born in Detmold, Lippe, Germany, on April 5, 1863. In 1869, his parents came to the United States, making their home in Minier, Illinois, until the year 1879 when they took up a homestead near Goehner, Nebraska. Mr. Schroeder was united in holy wedlock to Pauline Bluhm on March 4, 1890, by Rev. Speidle. Seven children were born... Read More	Henry Schroeder was born in Detmold, Lippe, Germany, on April 5, 1863. In 1869, his parents came to the United States, making their home in Minier, Illinois, until the year 1879 when they took up a homestead near Goehner, Nebraska. Mr. Schroeder was united in holy wedlock to Pauline Bluhm on March 4, 1890, by Rev. Speidle. Following their marriage they lived on a farm six miles west of Seward, after which they moved to a place near Garland, Nebraska. In 1917 they moved to Seward, due to the ill health of Mr. Schroeder. Seven children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Schroeder, two of which preceded him in death, namely, Edna Frank, 11 years ago, and Eddie, 30 years ago. Mr. Schroeder has been in very poor health for the past three years. He was bedfast 15 weeks and endured much suffering until finally the Father of mercy called him from this earthly abode on April 20, 1848, at 4:15 a.m., at the age of 85 years and 15 days. He leaves to mourn his going his bereaved help-meet with whom he was privileged to celebrate their golden anniversary in 1940, five children, Henry of Norfolk, Bertha Bradshaw of Detroit, Mich., Melita Beck of Seward, Rudolph of Kersey, Colo., and Arthur of Washington, D.C.; 12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; one brother, Louis Schroeder of Goehner, and two sisters, Mrs. Anna Niebur and Mrs. August Schulz, both of Seward, and many other relatives and friends. He was a member of Friedens E. and R. church, which his father had helped to erect. Funeral services were conducted on April 23, 1948, at 1:30 p.m. at the home and 2:30 at Frieden's church, with the pastor, Rev. M. L. Seybold, officiating. Mr. Ernest Temple brought much comfort and peace in singing the following fine hymns of comfort and faith: "Going Down the Valley One by One," "What a Friend We Have in Jesus, and "Abide With Me." He was accompanied by Velma Madison. Committal services were held at the Greenwood cemetery. Pallbearers were Otto Schroeder, Wm. Schulz, August Meyer, Herbert Meyer, Alvin Niebur and Louis Niebur. Among those present from a distance for the funeral services were Mr. and Mrs. Henry Schroeder of Norfolk, Mrs. Bertha Bradshaw of Detroit, Mich., her daughter Mrs. Delbert Demary, her daughters Pamlea and Carmen, daughter, granddaughter and great granddaughters of the deceased; Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Schroeder of Kersey, Colo.; A. W. Schroeder of Washington, D.C.; Mr. and Mrs. George Schleuter and daughters of Hazard, Nebr.; and Mr. and Mrs. Louis Niebur of Bradshaw. Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Schroeder left Saturday for their home in Colorado, and Arthur Schroeder left early Sunday morning by plane from Lincoln for his home in Washington, D.C.
