Description	:	Funeral services for Henry "Hank" Uhrig, age 84 of Morristown, will be Saturday, May 26, at Calvary Lutheran Church in Lemmon with Pastor Ken Miller, officiating. Burial will be in the Hillside Cemetery at Morristown with full military honors afforded by the Smith-Lyman American Legion Post #279 of Thunder Hawk. A family service will held Friday evening at the Evanson-Jensen Funeral Home in Lemmon. Serving as Honorary Casketbearers are grandchildren, Michelle, Mandi, Seasons, Austin, Tanasia, Delaney, Trevor, Trace, Dawson, Connor, Trasyn, Alora, Kameron, and Asher. Active Casketbearers are Jim, Hank, Steve, Cody, Gary, and Chance, and Tyler Uhrig. HENRY SIMON UHRIG "Hank" was born May 4, 1923 in Sioux Co., ND, north of Watauga. He was born in the Paradise Community Post Office and attended Paradise School. At an early age he went to work for an Uncle Herman Schmidt. He then went to work for area farmers and ranchers including Harvey Wells, Red Williamson, and old Dad Lemmon. On April 9, 1945, he was inducted into the U.S. Navy and was discharged on May 2, 1946. He purchased the Leith Bar and operated that for several years until purchasing a farm and ranch north of Keldron. He was united in marriage to Beulah Marie Beyers "Cissie" on March 19, 1950 at McIntosh, SD. They began their life together on a farm north of Keldron. In 1951, Hank went to work for Percy Behrmann at the service station in Morristown. Hank and Cissie purchased that station in 1970 and continued to operate it until 1980. In addition to the service station, they did custom haying and swathing until the late 1990's. Cissie passed away on March 2, 2001. Hank continued to live in Morristown and kept busy collecting tinkering on and restoring antique cars. Hank passed away on Tuesday, May 22, at the West River Regional Medical Center in Hettinger. He was active in the Morristown Fire Department, served as a city policeman and Corson County Deputy Sheriff for many years. and active in Morristown City Government which kept busy with city maintenance. Surviving family members include 3 sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Mickey Uhrig, Sidney, NE; Jim and Patti Uhrig, Lemmon, SD; Gary and Lorraine Uhrig, Morristown, SD; 11 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; 4 brothers and 4 sisters-in-law, Elton and Aggie Uhrig, Lead, SD; Jim and Marlene Uhrig, Pierre, SD; Bill Uhrig, Sidney, NE; Alfred "Squeeze" Uhrig, Morristown, SD; Sarah Uhrig, in California; Dolly Uhrig, Phillip, SD; 2 sisters and 2 brothers-in-law, Elaine and Bud O'Donnell, Lemmon, SD; Joan Sharp, Spearfish, SD; Larry Licking, Camp Crook, SD. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Cissie, 1 daughter in infancy, 1 grandson, Jimbo Uhrig, 3 brothers, Ed, John, and Mike Uhrig; 2 sisters, Myra "Baby" Licking; and Charlene "Toots" Pie kola.
